"Zoe"

Zoe and Zak shared a bed and she slept with him every night, until this past year. Too much dog hair in the bed. It had to be done. Isn't she cute?
Zoe was a Jack Russell which means : very hyper dog. She loved to chase the lights of a flashlight or car lights that reflected in our livingroom window. She loved the laser light.
Zoe especially loved to go on hikes with Chris, or go out with us in the forest to cut trees for our firewood. She liked to chase squirrels, birds, eat bugs, snoop for mice, get in the trash and sit on the couch. She understood the word "treat" and would stare at Sue until she would say to Zak, "have you given her a treat today, then she would get all excited and receive a treat.
This cutie really was the best dog ever. She was so good with children and even let our granddaughter sit and play in her dog bed. Sometime, being laid on herself.
Zak said yesterday, " how will we know when someone is at the door". Zoe always alerted us of any passing person close by the house. We will miss her!! We buried her in the forest (her favorite hang out) close by the house. Last night we finished her grave about 6:30 pm, it had become dark. The moon was full and shinning a path to her resting place, the air was still and not a sound could be heard as we said our goodbyes to her and had a little pray. Zak commented that that moment of stillness and the moon was a "Tender Mercy" from the Lord. Thanks to all who have called and expressed their sorrow with us.
